Happy Birthday?

Just reached that milestone in my life. Becoming 50 yrs young today April 22. Personally it’s just a number. I have always felt like it is up to the individual as to how they look, act, feel. To me if you act like a older person you will be that older person. I refuse to be that way. I want to be able to chase my grandkids as long as I can. So come on you ole’ couch critter sitters, get up and move. I know I am not in the best healthy shape ever or as most people. I do walk up my street every night. Yes I walk in the cold and only sprinkles. But I do work in my garden, I cut grass with my hubby, I plant flowers, and don’t for get the de-weeding process. We trimmed a lot in our yard a couple of weeks ago. And seriously I could barely lift a water bottle after the first day. But the second day we trimmed more and the pain eased up. I slept super great all of those evening to. But mainly I wanted to post that it is my birthday today and yes I am proud to say that I am 50. Thank you to all of my friends who wished me a happy birthday and thank you to my wonderful family that I get the chance to share it with. ~Victoria~

Spring Sprang Sprung

This is my latest quilt design I am laboring over. It is a French Braid Pattern or as others may call it a Friendship Braid. I am using a half hexagon template and a small jelly roll. I watched a You Tube video by Missouri Star Quilt Company that got me wanting to do this pattern. It has sashing in it that is the solid green. I will have it all the way around and in between the rows. So for I have completed 3 rows, and I will end up with 7 rows. I have no idea what the finished size will be. It’s a work in progress. The hardest and longest part was cutting out the small half hexagon. Glad thats’s over with. I will post updates when I get more completed.  ~Victoria~

To Pinterest or not to Pinterest

Ok you all have probably been there at least one time or another right? Well, I catch myself looking at least every day. Maybe to just see whats happening on the beginning page or maybe to actually search ideas to save for a later use.. YEAH RIGHT!! Tha is another thing we all look, and look, and look. Pin those pictures, save them in lots of neatly categorized folders and files in our own little collection world. Only to find out that we will never go back and look at them again. So really what is Pinterest used for.. Oh wait I think I have it figured out. It’s a secret ploy to get us to waste an hour or two browsing through lots of things and we for some reason can’t think for ourselves? Then to save the photo and create tons of clutter cloud space to never look at again. Ok I am a Pinterest gal to I like it a lots. But come on peeps can’t we find other things to do instead of random searches for “things”.

Take a moment to understand me. I am a person who is always trying to learn new things, understand my faults, love unconditionally, stay focused, be GOD fearing, appreciate a good meal, lend an ear to a friend in need, support all my family in their adventures, treat my pets like my children,  try to keep up with my grandchildren, cry on my husbands shoulders, be healthy, and live life like there is no TOMORROW.
